Summary of 10th Anniversary European Congress on Transport Aviation

On July 05th, 2019 in the framework of MAKS-2019 St. Petersburg held the 10-th  Anniversary European Congress on Transport Aviation, one of a series of European forums established in 2008. The Congress was organized by the German-Russian Economic Alliance in conjunction with the JSC Cargo Terminal Pulkovo and Northern Capital Gateway, LLC.

The Congress is an internationally recognized European dialogue platform in the field of transport aviation, which regularly brings together a wide range of representatives from airline, airport and logistics chains of the European continent to discuss the most important issues of the market and its development trends.

The main topics for discussion at the Congress were the current trends in the development of the European air cargo market, the problems of the airport development as an integral part of the transportation security and cargo handling, as well as issues of international liaison and collaboration within the European airspace.

It was noted that the volatility of the global economy still strongly affects the dynamic development of the industry and in recent years there has been no fundamental breakthrough in the development of the global airfreight market, although after the crisis in 2014-2015 its moderate growth was marked. Once again special attention was paid to the development of airports, taking into account modern challenges, as well as the interaction between them to ensure safe and reliable cargo turnover and its protection from modern threats.

Multilateral cooperation in countering terrorism and cyber defense of airport and aviation facilities is becoming an important field of inter-state cooperation.

To conclude there were given positive reviews by PJSC Aeroflot, FSUE Russian Post and etc. regarding the importance of the Congress in order to appraise international civil aviation issues and to develop business relations. On behalf of all the Congress organizers we are grateful for the high level of evaluating this event!
